
Fleet Maintenance Manager - Abbotsford/Chilliwack

- Promote a safety-first culture in all maintenance activities.
- Conduct shop walks to monitor safe work practices and address any hazards.
- Correct and report safety concerns to the Safety Manager and General Manager.
- Ensure daily toolbox meetings are held, focusing on safety topics and priorities.
- Keep safety documentation and toolbox topics up to date.
- Supervise maintenance staff in Abbotsford and Chilliwack, including Mechanics, Supervisors, and Parts personnel.
- Manage scheduling, attendance, and leave requests accurately in the system.
- Provide coaching on work order management, safety, and shop organization.
- Support hiring, training, and development of maintenance staff.
- Work with the General Manager on disciplinary actions and maintain detailed records.
- Ensure all staff training and certifications are current.
- Schedule training sessions, prioritizing operational requirements.
- Oversee daily shop operations and support Maintenance Supervisors as needed.
- Schedule work to ensure jobs are completed efficiently and without unnecessary task switching.
- Maintain an accurate vehicle off-road list and prioritize timely repairs.
- Manage KPI tracking and reporting in INFOR (including fuel, KM data, work orders, and purchase orders).
- Monitor warranty processes, including proper documentation and compliance with BCT guidelines.
- Oversee inventory management, including parts ordering, counts, and discrepancy resolution.
- Ensure Basware invoices are processed in a timely manner.
- Prepare and maintain maintenance records and reports for internal and client use.
- Review and update vehicle off-road lists multiple times daily.
- Monitor preventative maintenance schedules to balance workloads and avoid spikes.
- Coordinate with the Operations team on bus allotment and availability.
- Ensure all shop tools and equipment are in safe, working condition.
- Manage repairs, replacements, and facility-related maintenance in collaboration with relevant parties.
- Act as backup for Maintenance Supervisors when required.
- Assist with other maintenance roles during planned or unplanned vacancies.
- Support creation and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain open communication with the General Manager, Safety Manager, and other departments.
- Follow all of Transdev’s standards, policies, and procedures.
- Perform other responsibilities or tasks as requested or required.

- Previous experience in fleet maintenance management or similar supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance standards and compliance requirements.
- Ability to lead and develop teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with maintenance systems such as INFOR and Basware (or similar).
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- This is a full-time, non-unionized, permanent position.
- This is a Monday to Friday role with consistent work hours.
- This role requires occasional travel between sites as needed.
