This is a permanent full-time position, working 75 hours bi-weekly.This position may be located in various communities through the YukonAt Energy, Mines and Resources, we are committed to a healthy and sustainable resource sector, managed in partnership with Yukoners. We embrace a work environment where problem solving, creativity, teamwork, risk management and personal effort result in the attainment of our goals and those of our clients.As a member of EMR's Mineral Resources Branch, you are part of a professional team whose objective is to advance resource planning to support the orderly development of Yukon's natural resources in a responsible and sustainable manner. The team develops and delivers policies, strategies, programs and legislative instruments to support integrated resource management.As a key member of the branch supervisory team, and reporting to the Manager, Mineral Planning and Development, this position oversees a team of policy analysts and ensures operational research, evaluation, and analysis are carried out in line with current practices, emerging requirements, and corporate and departmental mandates across all phases of mineral resource development - from mineral tenure and exploration to major mine operations.   • Post-secondary degree in social sciences, public administration, law, policy, natural resource management or related field;
  • Experience leading, coaching or mentoring a team;
  • Experience researching, developing and/or delivering programs, policies, regulation, directives, plans, guidelines and/or legislative initiatives, preferably related to natural resource management;
  • Experience providing strategic advice and recommendations on complex issues;
  • Experience conducting interdepartmental, intergovernmental or multi-disciplinary collaboration;
  • Experience working with First Nation governments and public stakeholders;
  • Working knowledge/Understanding of the Umbrella Final Agreement and Yukon First Nation Final Agreements would be an asset.
Candidates with an equivalent combination of post-secondary coursework along with significant experience in the above will be equally considered.Desired Knowledge, Skills and Suitability
