We're partnering with a well-established North American industry leader seeking a skilled professional to join their in-house claims team.This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where your expertise will directly influence claim outcomes, operational improvements, and overall business success.The OpportunityAs an In-House Claims Adjuster, you will manage end-to-end commercial auto and general liability claims across Canada and the U.S. You'll handle a diverse and complex caseload, including large-loss and litigated matters, while working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners.You'll play a key role in driving efficient claims resolution, identifying trends, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of commercial auto, general liability, and property claims from intake through to resolution
  • Investigate, evaluate, and negotiate settlements for moderate to complex claims, including large-loss exposures
  • Oversee and manage litigated claims, including directing defense counsel and attending mediations
  • Establish and maintain appropriate reserves and ensure accurate financial management of claims
  • Identify and pursue subrogation opportunities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, safety, finance, and leadership teams
  • Engage and manage external vendors (adjusters, legal counsel, engineers, etc.)
  • Provide detailed reporting, including large loss and status reports
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying trends and process enhancements
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and provide support during after-hours incidents as needed
What We're Looking For
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience handling complex commercial auto claims
  • Strong expertise in bodily injury and litigation management (Canada and/or U.S.)
  • Solid understanding of claims practices, insurance coverage, and regulatory environments
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume, complex caseloads independently
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management
  • Comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels, including executives
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams)
