- Must work in full compliance with the approved safety regulations.
- Assembling and installing machines then testing them to make sure they are working correctly.
- Identifying and repairing problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts
- Overseeing preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn out pieces and lubricating mechanical parts
- Using machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, dollies, hoists, and trucks to move mechanical parts when needed.
- Reading blueprints and schematic drawings to understand how machinery should be assembled.
- Make accurate measurements to align and fit machine parts together using hand tools, power tools and other equipment for several tasks.
- Repairing and replacing defective machine parts.
- Ensure machines are working properly.
- Capable of lifting 50lbs for such items as various parts and tools (e.g. hydraulic rams, cylinders etc.)
- Capable of climbing ladders and stairs and able to maneuver through various skids throughout the pipe handling devices which could include crouching, kneeling, and crawling.
- Operate equipment, such as grinders, drills, and other various equipment to modify machine parts for use in equipment.
- As needed, signal crane and lift operators, indicating where to put machinery.
- Clean up at the end of shift to make sure your job site is well-organized and free of unnecessary clutter.
- Generate work orders and find parts electronically using the industry-standard Oracle preventative maintenance system
- Qualified as Journeyman Level Millwright (Red Seal)
- 5 years of experience in Heavy Industrial Plant Maintenance preferred
- Experience using all manner of tools & equipment including hydraulic hose crimpers, bearing heaters, pipe fitting tools, alignment jigs / lasers, hoists, cutting torches and welding equipment
- Demonstrated ability to read mechanical blueprints and schematic drawings
- Aptitude for hydraulic & pneumatic system components and theory of operation. Ability to read P&ID schematics.
- Experience with setting up, tearing down, and rebuilding machinery and equipment
- Ability to operate Jib cranes, forklifts and aerial work platforms
- Demonstrated ability using computers and maintenance-related applications
- Excellent written, oral communication and organizational skills
- Good problem solving and analytical skills
- Familiarity with predictive maintenance tools (vibration analysis, thermographic imaging, ultrasound, laser alignment, etc.)
