Hours: 37.5 Hours/Week
Salary: $27.51 to $28.10 per hour
Shifts: Day Shifts (every other Saturday or Sunday)

Closing Date: April 27, 2026Position SummaryThe Activity Aide is responsible for coordinating and delivering social, educational, and recreational programs that promote meaningful engagement and enhance clients' quality of life. Working collaboratively with team members, the Activity Aide supports the planning and facilitation of group activities, prepares program materials, and helps maintain a safe, organized, and accessible environment. The role also includes assisting with participant transportation, documenting client participation, and contributing to ongoing program improvement through feedback and evaluation.Duties:
- Provide social, educational and recreational programming to create a positive and engaging experience for clients
- Plan and organize group activities with other team members based on clients' cognitive and physical capabilities
- Program preparation including purchase of program supplies, producing of program flyers, activity calendar, and etc.
- Maintaining a safe environment for program operation including activity area cleanliness, equipment maintenance, IPAC compliance, etc.
- Transporting and/or escorting program participants to and from programs with the support of personal support workers
- Documents client's abilities and records participation
- Evaluate the success of events and activities, gather feedback from clients, and make improvements for future activities
- Other duties assigned as required.
- Post-secondary education in social and health services at least at a Community College Level with work experience and knowledge in elderly social service, or equivalent.
- Knowledge and training in GPA, PIECES and Restorative Care an asset
- At least 1 year of working experience in community setting
- Sensitivity to recognize the aging and physical needs of elderly clients
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office
- Current certification in CPR
- A valid vulnerable sector police record check completed within one year
- Good attendance record is required
- Current UHN employees must have successfully completed their probationary period, have a good employee record along with satisfactory attendance in accordance with UHN's attendance management program, to be eligible for consideration.
