We are currently recruiting individuals who are inspired by opportunity, driven by results, and aligned to NWP’s core values of being responsive, innovative, and connected.The RoleThe Student Recruitment and Retention Specialist will focus on executing strategies to positively influence the student experience and grow the reputation of NWP to increase student recruitment and success. This position travels to communities within and surrounding NWP’s defined recruitment catchment to serve prospective students. Working collaboratively with all NWP departments, the Student Recruitment Specialist will represent NWP at regional schools, community and on-campus events.
This position travels frequently, including regionally to serve prospective students and attend recruitment events.Student Recruitment and Retention Specialists may be assigned a recruitment portfolio that focuses on the strength of the recruiter along with the identified needs and strategies of the institution, including both internal and external community stakeholders. This may involve adopting strategies for the student recruitment and retention specialist that support and reaffirms NWP’s commitment to inclusion and reconciliation and supports NWP’s Indigenous Education ProtocolThe Student Recruitment Specialist will be responsible for the following:

  • Student Retention
  • Support Student Ambassador Program
  • Relationship Building
  • Other Duties as Assigned
This is a full-time (35hr/week) term-certain position (12 months). An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. The successful candidate must hold a valid Class 5 Driver's License.Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:

  • Ability to build strong relationships across the organization and with key external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking ability.
  • A high level of integrity, confidentiality, professionalism, and accountability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Zoom.
  • CRM would be an asset.
In addition to the above, the following may also be an asset per assigned portfolio:
  • Experience of indigenous cultures and values, and an understanding of contemporary initiatives and issues such as the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action.
  • An understanding of NWP's Indigenous Education Protocol.
  • An understanding of Indigenous ways of knowing, teaching and learning.
  • Experience working collaboratively with indigenous communities and organizations.
