Mechanical CAD Technician

- Prepare detailed mechanical design drawings for retrofit projects (HVAC, plumbing, hydronic systems) using AutoCAD or Revit
- Translate field measurements, site observations, and existing drawings into accurate design documentation
- Size ductwork, piping, and mechanical equipment in accordance with project requirements
- Perform heat loss/heat gain calculations as needed
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers to execute design intent and incorporate markups
- Set up and maintain drawing packages in line with internal standards
- Revise drawings throughout various project phases (design, tender, construction)
- Support site visits and field measurements when required
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Systems, or CAD Technology
- 5–10 years of experience in mechanical building systems design
- Prior experience working on existing buildings or retrofit projects is strongly preferred
- Canadian consulting engineering experience is an asset
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, including ventilation, air conditioning, boiler/chiller plants, plumbing, and heating distribution
- Experience with ductwork and piping layout/sizing
- Familiarity with building controls/automation systems is a plus
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
