
Mechanical Engineer

- Translating process designs into code-compliant, fabrication-ready mechanical systems using SolidWorks, while ensuring mechanical integrity and adherence to relevant codes.
- Participating in collaborative design sessions with multi-disciplinary teams to meet performance, safety, and compliance requirements while identifying risks and opportunities.
- Preparing accurate fabrication drawings using GD&T, and maintaining both internal and external engineering documentation.
- Supporting Production by delivering clear, build-ready documentation and assisting with on-site or shop floor troubleshooting when needed.
- Maintaining and improving the CAD database and design standards.
- Taking full ownership of the physical integrity and performance of assigned designs.
- A degree in Mechanical or Integrated Engineering.
- 1-3 years of relevant post-graduation work experience.
- Registration as an EIT through EGBC or another Canadian engineering regulator.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, including routing, large assemblies, weldments, sheet metal, drawings, and PDM systems.
- Familiarity with industrial plant design, including P&IDs and concurrent engineering practices.
- Experience using PLM (e.g., Aras Innovator) and ERP systems.
- Knowledge of applicable piping codes and standards (e.g., ASME B31.3, BPVC, CSA B51-14).
- Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience designing structural frames and/or high-pressure stainless steel piping systems (an asset).
- Knowledge of design for assembly and LEAN methodologies (preferred).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to contribute to hands-on work when required.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to sites within North America as needed.
