It is located near the town of Matachewan centrally located between Timmins, Kirkland Lake, North Bay and Sudbury, Ontario. The 2020 completion of a highly automated, lower mine expansion has resulted in Young-Davidson increasing production and generating strong free cash flow. With a large Mineral Reserve base, it will serve as Alamos’ foundation for growth for many years to come. This is a very exciting time at Young-Davidson, and we are searching for highly motivated and committed people to join our team!If you are willing to be part of a team that is dedicated to growth, high performance and a culture of safety and accountability, we would like to hear from you!Reporting to the Diamond Drilling Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a variety of assignments in the core shack and assisting in multiple areas of the Geology and Exploration Departments.Primary Responsibilities:

Core handling, cutting and sampling exploration and definition diamond drill core;
Maintaining a clean and safe work environment inside and outside the core shack;
Core orientation;
RQD, meter marks, magnetic susceptibility measurements;
Open core boxes and arrange them in order;
Check meterage blocks for errors;
Rack core boxes and tag hole numbers;
Bundle empty core boxes;
Palletize logged and sampled core boxes;
Moving material (core skids/pulps and rejects);
Sorting and storing pulps and rejects;
Cut core and manage core cutting logbook/sheet;
Prepare samples for dispatch to outside labs;
Data entry as required;
Assist core logger(s) as required;
Field work as required; and
Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor or designate.

Qualifications and Experience:

Grade 12 high school education or higher;
Minimum of 1 year industry experience;
Ability to regularly lift 30 kg (60 pounds);
Proficiency with excel and word document software;
Strong organization and time management skills;
Good communication skills;
Ability to manage repetitive tasks;
Capacity to prioritize tasks;
Team player; and
Valid driver’s license.
