Our Richmond Hill Manufacturing/Engineering client is looking for talented CAD Tech’s to join their growing team! This is entry to intermediate level with 3-5 years of experience in providing planning, drawing/models and design support to the project team. It’s an excellent opportunity to be part of end-to-end project process and to grow with a reputable organization.What you will be doing:Creating/ coordinating / updating and reviewing drawings within the Engineering & Projects team.Support the project team by creating models and drawings in SolidWorksSpecify electrical and mechanical components in the drawingsModification of existing designs and drawingsReverse engineering of existing electrical systems to produce drawingsProducing parts lists and bills of material (BOM)Create dimensioned drawings and 3D models, components & assemblies based on input from engineersUpload and maintain drawings using a document management systemEnsure compliance with quality standards in CAD drawingsRedesign drawings according to markups and specificationsTranslate and convert hand drawings and sketches into CAD systemsRead, evaluate and interpret designs and drawingsCreate and implement work methodologies and strategiesDocument and update all drawingsCoordinate the work activities associated with the company CAD System file management and configuration with consultants, engineers, contractors, and departments, as well as outside agenciesAssist in the preparation of bid/ tender documentsWhat you must have:An Associate of Applied Science Degree/diploma in drafting OR Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or design OR C.E.T.A minimum three (3) to five (5) years’ experience working in a CAD Specialist position or the equivalent, producing drawings and models using SolidWorksCAD certification is an assetExperience in low voltage/medium voltage power distribution equipment and cable management systemsExperience in 3D drawingKnowledge of engineering specifications (CSA, NEC, etc.) is an assetDemonstrate ability to work effectively as part of a team, or aloneEffective written and oral communication skillsSelf-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities.Salary/Rate Range: $58,000 – $60,000For more information about TEEMA and to consider other career opportunities, please visit our website at
