- Manage intake of new matters, including initial file set‑up, deadline tracking, and ongoing file maintenance
- Liaise professionally with clients, physicians, experts, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders
- Review medical records and litigation materials to assess case issues, identify next steps, and ensure compliance with critical deadlines
- Independently prepare high‑quality documentation, including medical chronologies, correspondence, memoranda, expert materials, and court documents
- Organize, track, and maintain both physical and electronic file documentation, including expert packages and related exhibits
- Support professionals throughout all stages of the litigation process, including interlocutory applications, questioning, trial, and appeal
- Provide mentoring and training support to junior team members, as required
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Legal Administrative Assistant Diploma, with preference for Paralegal or Law Clerk Certification from a recognized post‑secondary institution
- Minimum five years of civil litigation experience, ideally in medical or professional liability defence
- Strong understanding of the civil litigation process
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and attention‑to‑detail skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and take direction
- Proven ability to manage a heavy and varied workload
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated experience mentoring or training others
- Understanding of medical terminology
- Experience with eDiscovery platforms and processes
