- Provide exceptional leadership, mentoring and coaching to operations team members by leading and facilitating meetings and providing feedback
- Working closely with Human Resources to identify education, training and development needs for direct reports relating to performance, career path and succession planning
- Foster a positive work environment that aligns to our organizational culture and values and participate in culture initiatives that sustain our designed corporate behaviours
- Conduct daily operations debriefs for Management and Supervisors to ensure warehousing activities are being executed according to plan and identify solutions where problems or gaps may exist
- Evaluate, monitor, and verify operational performance and address issues in a proactive manner (ie. system maintenance, product management, and operational issues)
- Ensure standard operating procedures and/or routines are effectively developed, managed and evolve with changing business needs
- Lead continuous improvement and innovation initiatives, and monitor projects to ensure deadlines are met
- Provide General Manager with reports and updates on operational activity
- Drive a safety culture by collaborating with the operations team in the development and maintenance of safety programs to ensure compliance is achieved in all areas including: health and safety, food safety, HACCP and accident/injury reporting
- Champion exceptional customer service and ensure obligations are met in regards to inbound and outbound deliveries, on-time arrivals and quality standards
- Partner with the General Manager on financial records with a strong financial aptitude that includes: developing budgets, forecasting and labour planning
- Post-secondary education (Supply Chain Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business or other related designation) is beneficial, but not mandatory. Practical experience is highly valued.
- 5 years+ superior leadership experience in a distribution operations
- Proven track record providing dedicated customer service excellence through strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional team-building ability and a strong people development background
- Demonstrated ability to model organizational culture behaviors and align business decisions to corporate values
- Must have excellent decision-making, time management, and communication skills
- Strong computer systems knowledge (MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems
- Flexibility to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
