Authentication Technology is the team responsible for building the software for orchestrating the Authentication process and storing high value items. The team is also building software for warehouse operations including integration with custom hardware, RFID readers & mobile devices running on android platforms.About the role:We are seeking full stack software engineer who has the skills to design, develop and release the software related to authenticating high value items on time and with high quality. The role requires skills in design, coding, test, maintain software solutions, guide junior team members and also work closely with product managers & peer teams.Requirements:Define, design, and implement & maintain sophisticated, multi-tier distributed software systems that automate authentication of high value luxury itemsDrive design and architecture discussions, produce well-documented design docs, and participate in design and code reviewsDevelop & maintain APIs for web or mobile applicationsDesign, develop and maintain database schemas & build reporting applicationsWork closely with peers, Architects, Product Managers, Business Partners, Quality Engineers, and Operations teams to develop innovative solutions that meet functional and non-functional standards and expectationsContribute to the development, testing, release, triage, bug fix, documentation and rest of the cycles in product development and maintenanceRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field plus 8+ years of experience or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field plus 5+ years of hands-on experience in building large-scale distributed systemsExperience as a Backend engineer with a focus on database management and Restful API design and developmentStrong understanding of SQL & database technologies (MySQL, PostgresSQL, MongoDB, Redis) and designing database schemas and reporting applicationsExtensive hands-on experience and expertise in object-oriented design methodology and application development using Java or Ruby/Rails, Design Patterns, Spring and Spring Boot frameworks, Web services and Caching mechanisms.Strong experience working in Google Cloud Platform or equivalent and containerization technologies (ex Docker, Kubernetes)Nice to have QualificationsFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines using Github Actions/Jenkins/Github workflowsBasic understanding of Machine learning & Computer Vision algorithms including Convolution Neural Networks & Deep learning.Google Cloud Developer or Architect certification is an advantageExperience developing mobile applications on Android platformExperience working in warehouse operations, Shipping, logistics or luxury item AuthenticationKnowledge of React, JavaScript and front end frameworks and experience developing front end applicationsExperience developing software solutions integrating with IoT devicesPlease see the for information regarding how eBay handles your personal data collected when you use the eBay Careers website or apply for a job with eBay.eBay is an equal opportunity employer.
