Senior Procurement - Contract - 18442About the OpportunityOur Public Sector Client is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to support the Canadian Joint Warfare Centre (CJWC). This role will provide procurement expertise in managing service contracts under TBIPS, SBIPS, and TSPS. The selected candidate will deliver expert guidance across a range of procurement and resource management tasks.Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Task #1: Provide procurement services for the creation and award of contracts. This may include recommending or awarding TBIPS, SBIPS, and/or TSPS contracts within delegated authority and providing support on portions of more complex and higher value files. As well, this may include the review of procurement, contractual, and resource management documentation to support requirements
  • Task #2: Provide advice and guidance to clients on medium to high complexity files. Advise and assist management and other stakeholders in the relevant procurement policies at play, and make recommendations on best practices
  • Task #3: Provide resource management support. Support the day-to-day management of the administration of resources, to include liaison with the contractor's representative(s)
  • Task #4: Provide financial administrative support for resource management activities. This includes but is not limited to: preparing reports for managers to assist them in budget management; budget review for labour and travel; processing claims; processing invoices
  • Task #5: Provide solutions and problem-solving for complex cases. As a procurement subject matter expert, find creative solutions to ensure mission-critical procurement objectives are met
About YouThe successful candidate will have the following:
  • Post secondary education in a relevant field
  • Knowledge of procurement policies, procedures, and practices within the Government of Canada environment
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience within the last five (5) years in performing procurement and contracting tasks in a Government of Canada (GoC) environment in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat
  • A minimum of six (6) years of experience within the last ten (10) years with, and current working knowledge of, Government of Canada (GoC) contracting processes as per the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat. The resource must also be able to articulate the methods for procuring both inside and outside of a given Delegation of Authority
  • English Essential - Intermediate oral, comprehension, and written proficiency
  • Valid Secret level clearance

  • Work Environment: Hybrid - onsite with 1 day per week remote flexibility
