Closing Date: September 14, 2025As an Event & Fundraising Coordinator, you will serve as the face of our events team and our six signature events:
- Ride to Conquer Cancer
- Walk to Conquer Cancer
- Journey to Conquer Cancer
- Northern Pass to Conquer Cancer
- Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer
- Cricket to Conquer Cancer
- Connect with current, past and potential future event participants on a daily basis to provide support, answer inquiries, and motivate them in their fundraising efforts. This will include making and answering inbound and outbound calls, emails, SMS messages and Live Chats.
- Assist participants in reaching their fundraising goals by providing tools, resources, and personalized support, ensuring they feel empowered and connected to our cause.
- Develop an expert understanding of events to effectively engage with key stakeholders, providing timely and accurate information and support.
- Respond to participant inquiries with empathy and professionalism, acknowledging and resolving issues while maintaining a positive demeanor.
- Collaborate with event teams to execute orientation and recruitment initiatives, enhancing participant engagement and recruitment efforts.
- Offer event participants data, online support, and overall enthusiasm for their involvement with PMCF and their efforts in raising funds for cancer research.
- Engage in communication across various channels, involving cross-functional team members to ensure cohesive support for participants and donors.
- Provide constructive feedback and contribute to the development of internal processes related to events and fundraising.
- Communicate effectively and efficiently across the organization in both written and verbal form, ensuring clear and consistent messaging.
- Maintain a flexible mindset, allowing you to adjust to new tactics and strategies as they emerge.
- Undertake other projects and tasks as assigned to continue advancing the team's objectives.
- Post-secondary degree/diploma or equivalent work experience; with a preference for experience in supporting fundraising events, including participant recruitment, engagement, and stewardship, demonstrating an ability to inspire and motivate individuals to reach their fundraising goals.
- 1-3 years in a sales and customer service-focused role with previous experience working within a call centre environment, offering customer service and sales.
- Familiarity with fundraising platforms or CRM systems such as Raisin, Blackbaud, DonorDrive, DonorPerfect, Raisely, or similar tools is considered an asset.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with donors and event participants, providing exceptional support and guidance to enhance their fundraising experience and maximize their contributions.
- Ability to complete high-volume outbound calls/emails during peak periods.
- Excellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); experience with relationship databases is an asset.
