- Develop a Regional Strategic Growth Plan annually for the Indigenous Segment and deliver on annual growth targets.
- Develop and implement market-level business development and sales strategies specifically tailored for Indigenous communities.
- Seek out and secure partnership opportunities with community leaders, including Chiefs, Band Councils, and Economic Development Corporations, to identify and capitalize on strategic business-to-business opportunities.
- Train and educate the sales team on building relationships with Indigenous segment businesses.
- Deliver and deploy the Indigenous Segment Playbook.
- Contribute to the strategy for sales colleague and business development resourcing and territory planning in partnership with regional sales leadership.
- Evaluate market trends and customer needs to develop comprehensive, customer-centric product and service solutions.
- Leverage sales technology and business resources to provide end-to-end market-level business development and consultative services.
- Provide oversight to pricing management and strategy for the territory, ensuring alignment with overall market objectives.
- Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
- Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.
- Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in market-level business development or sales strategy with Indigenous end-market participants.
- Completion of post-secondary education or equivalent experience; CPSA designation is preferred.
- Proven ability to cultivate market-level relationships with Indigenous stakeholders and drive overall sales growth.
- Strong financial and business acumen with the ability to plan and execute market-level business development strategies.
- Demonstrated skills in consultative selling, networking, and negotiations at the business development and strategy level.
- Strong communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with community leaders, internal/external teams, and market stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- A valid driver’s license in good standing with access to a vehicle is required as there may be travel requirements between 25-50%.
- This position requires air travel and overnight stays in remote communities across northern Canada.
