We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Health Care Assistant (HCA) Clinical Instructor to support and guide students during their clinical training at Louis Brier in Vancouver. This 7-week assignment begins on August 23, 2025, and plays a key role in preparing students for successful entry into the healthcare workforce. The clinical placement will follow a fixed daytime schedule, providing consistency and structure for both the instructor and students. As Discovery Community College offers regular student intakes across its programs, there are ongoing opportunities for instructors seeking continued employment with future cohorts.The instructor will oversee and facilitate the clinical learning experience, ensuring students gain the practical skills, professional insight, and confidence necessary for their future roles as Health Care Assistants.This Part-Time opportunity offers variable hours up to 24-32 hours per week during the clinical term and may lead to future instructional roles within the college.Rate Range: $32 to $35/hour. CADKey Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate student learning in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings, providing guidance and support throughout.
  • Prepare and deliver lesson plans, learning activities, and assessments aligned with course objectives.
  • Supervise students during clinical placements, ensuring safe, ethical, and competent care practices.
  • Ensure compliance with program accreditation standards, regulatory guidelines, and college policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and evaluations.
Qualifications:
  • Two or more years of full-time nursing experience – required.
  • 2800 hours of nursing experience
  • nursing experience must include working with older adults with complex health needs
  • Nursing experience must include experience or orientation in home support and multi-level care
  • Ability to teach adult learners (mentoring / instructing)
  • Provincial Instructors Diploma and previous experience or
  • Aptitude and willingness to learn and obtain an Instructor Diploma (with our help)
