
Traffic Control Person - Unionized

- Perform basic traffic control set-ups and tear downs while adhering to the MTO Book 7 requirements to ensure safety of all stakeholders impacted by the site (crew members, motorists, pedestrians, etc.).
- Protect your peers, construction workers, the motoring public, cyclists, and pedestrians by regulating traffic flow.
- Stop traffic whenever required by the progress of work or keep traffic moving at reduced speeds to avoid tie-ups and delays.
- Maintain safety awareness at all times and work in compliance with applicable health and safety regulations and policies.

- Must be available to work Monday to Friday between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
- Must have a valid G Class driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Must have ability to lift up to 60 pounds regularly, stand for extended periods, and work in various inclement weather conditions.
- Must have strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Must have vision and hearing abilities that allow you to perform all work requirements safely.
- Previous experience in flagging is an asset.
- Must have your own CSA Grade 1 (green label) work boots with a minimum 6-inch cuff and electrical shock resistance (white label with omega symbol).
- Must be able to calmly troubleshoot issues and collaborate with a diverse group of people.
- Must have a smartphone and be comfortable using it for work purposes with ability to learn new systems/apps.
- Must be comfortable working in a team environment.
- Must be aware of surroundings at all times to monitor traffic, construction equipment, and workers for safety purposes.
