
Intermediate/Senior Environmental Specialist

- Providing technical oversight, supervision, and mentorship on reclamation site assessments, including wellsite, facility, and pipeline projects
- Planning, coordinating, and managing environmental projects both in the field and from the office
- Conducting field work such as vegetation monitoring, Detailed Site Assessments (DSAs), and supervising/coordinating tree planting programs
- Assessing forested soils/vegetation and classifying peatland vegetation
- Supervising third-party contractors, field teams, and office staff as needed
- Leading and reporting on Phase I, II, and III Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)
- Interpreting and analyzing environmental data and producing high-quality technical reports
- Preparing and managing project budgets
- Maintaining strong relationships with clients and external stakeholders
- Participating in health and safety programs for both company and client standards
- 30% of time in office, 70% on field work.
- A university degree or diploma in environmental engineering, agrology, conservation and reclamation, or geoscience from a recognized institution
- 5-10 years of consulting or industry experience in environmental site assessment and reclamation
- Eligibility or current registration with a professional association (e.g., APEGA, APEGS, AIA, ASPB) in Alberta or Saskatchewan
- Strong working knowledge of Alberta's surface reclamation regulations and guidelines
- Proficiency with Alberta's 2010 Forested Criteria and 2017 Peatland Reclamation Criteria
- Familiarity with BC restoration guidelines and best practices (an asset)
- Excellent technical writing, data analysis, and reporting skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment
- High attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and solve problems independently
- A proactive mindset and the ability to take initiative and ownership of projects
