- CNO registration as NP & RN(EC)
- Minimum 5 years required in addiction medicine
- 3-5 years Mental Health & addictions experience required
- NPAO/RNAO membership an asset
- Experienced in Suboxone and addiction medicine
- Authorized to prescribe narcotics/controlled substances
- Community/Primary Care experience
- First Aid/CPR-C + AED
- Knowledge of Mental Health Act, Health Care Consent Act, etc.
- Excellent communication skills
- Open, non‑judgmental approach
- Proficiency in evidence‑based primary care practices
- Strong leadership, organization, evaluation & interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook
- Provide comprehensive care aligned with CNO NP Practice Standard
- Assess/manage patients with addictions & co-occurring health conditions
- Conduct advanced assessments of emotional, cognitive & behavioral states
- Utilize evidence-based addiction interventions, including withdrawal mgmt.
- Deliver trauma‑informed, recovery‑oriented, harm‑reduction care
- Act as clinical resource to professionals, community groups & families Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physical and mental health assessments to determine patient suitability and readiness for Withdrawal management center.
- Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans using evidence-based clinical judgment.
- Prescribe and manage medications and therapeutic interventions within scope of practice.
- Monitor patient safety, vital signs, and mental status and provide clinical interventions as required.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and clinic leadership to coordinate patient care and participate in case reviews.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment expectations, risks, benefits, and informed consent.
- Support patients in integrating therapeutic experiences and connect them with appropriate follow-up resources.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and WRHN standards.
- Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, infection prevention, and clinic policies.
- Engage in ongoing review of emerging research and contribute to knowledge sharing within the clinical team.
