- Partner with operations to ensure the implementation and adherence of all aspects of our Injury and Illness Prevention Plan for assigned location.
- Partner with the Global Safety and Security Business Support and Compliance Teams to support operations in executing Global Safety and Security initiatives.
- Escalate requested changes and best practices to the Safety Compliance Team for review and standardization.
- Anticipate, identify, evaluate hazardous conditions, and build practices to aid in all critical incident planning, preparation, and responses.
- Conduct inspections of facilities to identify corrective actions and risk mitigation steps for potential hazards, security risks, and regulatory compliance concerns.
- Partner cross-functionally with all levels of site management in assigned location to mitigate risk and resolve safety and security related issues.
- Partner with site leadership in developing action plans to improve safety/security culture in assigned location and promote employee engagement in safety/security programs.
- Partner with operations and key stakeholders, to ensure all new hires receive safety orientation, and verify annual training requirements for existing employees.
- Assist in the implementation and execution of safety and security accountability programs.
- Maintain effective working relationships with regulatory agencies, industry security and life safety professionals, vendors, and suppliers.
- Prepare and submit incident reports in compliance with company and insurance carrier requirements. Support any related investigations.
- Provide daily guidance to the third-party guard service. Ensure guards are following documented post orders. Work to ensure there are no gaps in guard coverage.
- Conduct physical security, camera system and access control checks to ensure compliance.
- 2+ years in a dedicated, progressive Safety role with tangible exposure to asset protection techniques, or similar experience required. Bachelor's Degree not required but preferred.
- Lean Six-Sigma experience desired.
- Demonstrated knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements that govern worker health and safety, physical assessment and ergonomic skills, and case management skills.
- Knowledge of municipal, provincial, and federal occupational health, safety and environmental regulations and laws.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of safety and security concepts, best practices, policies, programs, and procedures. Preferably in a distribution environment.
- Working knowledge of conveyor safety, fork truck safety, hand tool safety and ergonomics.
- Working knowledge of workers compensation case management.
- Ability to handle multiple projects, set priorities, strong organizational and time management skills.
- Flexibility to support multiple buildings across multiple shifts that are dynamic and have changing business needs.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with demonstrated experience in hypothesis-driven learning, turning data into actionable insights.
- Superior communication skills with the ability to navigate a complex organization and generate buy-in for ideas and plans.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, with a bias for action and ability to deal with extreme ambiguity and rapidly changing environments.

- Must be able to stand and or walk in a variety of weather and terrain conditions for shifts up to 10 hours.
- Must be able to lift and hold 15 pounds.
- Be able to work effectively in a warehouse environment with hot and cold conditions, equipment traffic, and possible loud noises.
- Ability to travel within your assigned area of responsibility. Occasional (10%) overnight travel is required.
- This is an onsite role with 40 hours that vary across multiple shifts as the needs of the business change to operational requirements.
