Job Category: OperationsResponsibilities:*Responsibilities for Internal CandidatesJOB SUMMARYThis position is primarily responsible for operating various machine tools varying from fully manual operation to completely automated computer-controlled machining centers.Ensures to perform his tasks to meet customer requirements and Howmet's quality procedures while keeping minimum inventory. DUTIES/RESPONSABILITIES
  • Organizes work in process into groups according to required machine operation.
  • Calls up appropriate machine instructions on Process Method Sheets (PMS) book.
  • Installs proper cutting tools into the machine tool, measures tool length, and enters measurement into the computer.
  • Installs correct fixture into the machine tool.
  • Machine's castings and visually inspect against PMS standards.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  • Operates various machine tools varying from fully manual operation to completely automated computer-controlled machining centers.
  • Reads tolerancing diagrams and operates gauges to assure proper tolerances.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Respects the values and code of ethics of the company.
  • Respects the Environment, Health & Safety programs of the company.
Qualifications:Qualifications for Internal CandidatesREQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
  • Must be able to read, write, and comprehend written and verbal instructions, drawings, and blueprints.
  • Must be able to operate a computer keyboard and have sufficient computer knowledge to make program changes if needed.
EDUCATION REQUIRED
  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of both experience and training.

EXPERIENCE
  • Six to eight months of on the-job training is required to achieve proficiency.
