Your goal in this position is to contribute to the operation of the Centre through the day to day maintenance of essential support services (under the supervision of assigned Staff Pharmacist and overall supervision by the Manager of the Centre). - Perform inventory control functions
- Obtain Best Possible Medication History (BPMH) to facilitate medication reconciliation
- Be responsible for medication dispensing
- Perform information gathering & prescription data entry
- Be responsible for prescription processing (counting, labeling & related filing responsibilities)
- Graduate of a recognized Pharmacy Technician program at the Community College level
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (C.Ph.T) designation from the Ontario College of Pharmacists
- Experience in hospital pharmacy preferred
- Diabetes Care and Medication Management experience, an asset
- Best Possible Medication History (BPMH)/Medication Reconciliation experience
- Demonstrate knowledge of current concepts of retail and hospital pharmacy practice
- Demonstrate knowledge in Pharmaceutical Math
- Accurate and efficient typing skills
- Proficient in the use of Pharmacy Computer System and ability to support basic trouble-shooting
- Good knowledge of the operation and standards of practice for Pharmacy Technicians in hospital setting
