An innovative pharmaceutical manufacturing facility is seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead its HR strategy and operations during an exciting growth phase. With a current workforce of approximately 250 employees and plans to expand to 280–300 within the next year, this non-unionized organization is committed to fostering a dynamic, collaborative environment that emphasizes innovation, operational excellence, and meeting stringent medical and technical standards.This role is fully on-site, five days per week at the company's facility in Arnprior, Ontario, ensuring hands-on leadership and close collaboration with employees and the leadership team.Key Responsibilities:The HR Director will play a pivotal role in driving organizational success through a comprehensive HR strategy, directly supporting the leadership team and overseeing a dedicated HR function. Core responsibilities include:
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to forecast workforce needs, optimize organizational structures, and align HR strategies with business objectives.
  • Lead recruitment efforts focused on attracting top-tier talent while ensuring cultural alignment and meeting technical skill requirements.
  • Design and implement programs for onboarding, leadership development, and performance management to foster employee growth and leadership capabilities.
  • Cultivate strong relationships between employees and management, addressing challenges and promoting a culture of trust, innovation, and teamwork.
  • Streamline policies, procedures, and processes to enhance efficiency while maintaining compliance with labor laws and industry standards.
  • Develop and execute tailored initiatives to enhance employee satisfaction, address time and attendance challenges, and improve overall team performance.
  • Oversee safety initiatives and compliance through direct collaboration with the Health and Safety Manager.
Leadership & Team Structure:
The HR Director will report directly to an innovative and collaborative senior leader, serving as a trusted advisor to a seven-member leadership team composed of both legacy and newer leaders. The HR Director will lead a team of four direct reports:
  • Two HR Business Partners (HRBPs): Supporting multi-shift operations and ensuring HR coverage across the plant.
  • Dedicated Recruiter: Driving talent acquisition efforts to support organizational growth.
  • Health and Safety Manager: Managing safety programs and compliance across the facility.
The successful candidate will be a confident, collaborative leader with a continuous improvement mindset and strong coaching abilities. Key attributes include:
  • Proven HR leadership experience, ideally within manufacturing or pharmaceutical environments ( preferred but not required)
  • Demonstrated success in partnering with leadership teams on strategic HR initiatives.
  • Expertise in labor laws, compliance requirements, and HR best practices.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills.
  • Ability to simplify processes while maintaining compliance and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Experience with HRIS systems, particularly ADP.
  • A positive approach to fostering teamwork and driving operational improvements.
Compensation & Benefits:
  • Salary Range: $125,000–$155,000 annually.
  • Performance Bonus: 15%
