Responsibilities:
- Manage and participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities of the merchandise sales team.
- Assume management responsibility for all services and activities of the Merchandise Sales Department within the facility including sales tools and materials.
- Select, train, motivate and evaluate all merchandise sales personnel; provide or coordinate staff and the training needed; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline and termination procedures.
- Plan, direct, coordinate, and review the event merchandising plan for each event as needed.
- Participate in the development and administration of the needs for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; direct the monitoring of the same; direct and implement adjustments as necessary.
- Prepare written and electronic settlements; reevaluate potential business value of various events and clients; initiate contact with Artist merchandisers.
- Conduct tours of facility for incoming Artist merchandiser; answer questions and provide information regarding facility capabilities.
- Meets with Director of Finance and Director of Events to discuss all matters pertaining to event merchandising.
- Responsible for the event set up both equipment and the electronic settlement, as well as point of sale, cash floats, reconciliations, and counts.
- Responsible for all cash and receipts and the reconciliation thereof.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Sales experience for an arena, convention center, sports franchise, hotel or other similar public assembly or hospitality facility, including supervisory responsibility is preferred.
- Ability to work event nights, weekends and holidays as required.
- Has a strong track record of building relationships.
- Excellent organizational skills, leadership skills, customer service skills.
- Enthusiastic and positive thinker.
- Strong PC and data processing skills; working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, as well as merchanise sales software.
