Remote Flexibility: In OfficeOur client, a dynamic and fast-paced commercial litigation firm located in downtown Toronto, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Litigation Legal Assistant to support 2–3 lawyers. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with strong organizational skills and a solid understanding of Ontario litigation procedures to play a key role in a busy practice.Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage litigation files from intake through to resolution, including opening files, preparing retainers, and ensuring proper client onboarding and conflict checks
- Maintain organized electronic and physical files in accordance with firm and LSO standards
- Monitor limitation periods, court deadlines, and key milestones; maintain accurate diarization and bring-forward systems
- Draft, format, and revise a variety of litigation documents, including pleadings, motion materials, discovery documents, and correspondence
- Ensure all documentation complies with the Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure and court requirements
- Coordinate calendars, meetings, and travel for assigned lawyers
- Handle time entry, docketing, expense reports, and monthly billing
- Prepare and send routine correspondence and maintain up-to-date client records
- Utilize Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Ontario Courts e-filing systems
- Provide general administrative and practice support as required
- 3+ years experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant in Ontario
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure and court filing processes
- Excellent drafting, proofreading, and document formatting skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Proactive with the ability to anticipate the needs of lawyers
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience with Ontario Courts Public Portal is an asset
- Strong communication and time management skills
