The ideal candidate excels at translating complex client needs and architectural plans into precise security system layouts using CAD software. This role is critical to ensuring seamless integration of systems including CCTV, access control, intrusion alarms, and more—across small to large-scale projects.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate closely with clients, project leads, sales, and engineers to understand security requirements and project objectives (CCTV, Access Control, Alarm, Networking…).Develop detailed security system design drawings such as system layouts, riser diagrams, floor plans, and installation details.Interpret architectural and construction drawings thoroughly to align security system designs with building infrastructure and client specifications.Prepare engineering specifications, technical reports, and supporting documentation to guide installation and commissioning teams.Stay up-to-date on evolving security technologies and industry standards to incorporate best practices into designs.QualificationsMinimum 3+ years’ experience designing physical security systems, including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and integrated security solutions.Proficiency in AutoCAD or other for creating highly detailed CAD security drawings.Strong knowledge of construction drawings and architectural plans, able to accurately incorporate security elements within structural constraints.Detail-oriented with a proven ability to produce precise, error-free security layouts and documentation.Solid understanding of security system architectures, functionality, and industry standards.Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and clients.Relevant technical or engineering degree or diploma preferred but equivalent experience accepted.Additional InformationWhy Join Us?Work on cutting-edge physical security projects for high-profile public and private clients.Collaborate with a dynamic team passionate about innovation in security system design.Opportunities for professional growth and ongoing training in advanced security technologies.Drive initiatives that protect critical infrastructure and empower top-tier clients.Competitive salary, and comprehensive benefits package.Flexible (hybrid) work environmentOpportunity to be among the early hires in a quickly growing startup24/7 gym access and other perks at our Calgary OfficeIf you thrive at the intersection of technology, relationship-building, and high-stakes sales, and hold yourself to unmatched standards of detail and excellence, apply today to join our national team!
