A self-starter who also has the ability to work independently, ensuring the precision of your work and exhibiting a meticulous attention to detail are of paramount importance to you.As the Planning Supervisor, your role may encompass a range of important responsibilities related to planning activities, cutting permit acquisition, overseeing project management and field operations. Your contributions will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth progression of various tasks. This position is full-time with the Kootenay Woodlands Team.As a Planning Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:
- Safely conduct field and office activities related to forest Planning, including block design and reconnaissance.
- Ensure compliance with operational plans, legal requirements and company policy.
- Work and form positive relationships with internal customers, team members, First Nations, Government Agencies, the public and other stakeholders.
- Managing and completing all activities associated with Cutting Permit and Road Permit Acquisitions, including Appraisals, Site Plans, Engineered Cost Estimates, etc
- Implementing and improving stumpage management best practices
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality field layout and data while meeting business plan requirements.
- Conduct activities consistent with the Canfor Operating System.
- Prepare budgets and manage costs within your specific responsibilities.
- University Degree or Technical Diploma with a minimum of 5 years forestry experience.
- Registered or eligible for registration as an RPF or RFT with the Association of BC Forest Professionals
- Excellent leadership, communication & project management skills, with the ability to work within a team environment.
- Excellent knowledge of applicable B.C. legislation and policies.
- Varied experience in Forest planning, Cutting Permit acquisition, Harvesting and Silviculture
- Fostering positive First Nations relationships
