- Oversee staff to ensure the successful delivery of construction projects to completion
- Promotes the overall site safety program including subcontractor compliance with Ledcor standards, the Health Safety and Environmental Plan (HSE Plan), and all applicable OH&S acts, regulations, and codes
- Ensures that field staff are equipped with the resources required to efficiently complete projects according to approved plans, specifications and applicable building codes
- Actively participates in the pre-bid and preconstruction process regarding site layout, logistics, scheduling, and workforce planning, with consideration for tenant improvement and special project requirements
- Ensures project execution aligns with Ledcor’s Construction Operations Manual and takes ownership of developing the Project Quality Program (PQP)
- Review and maintain schedule, ensure milestones are met, identify scheduling issues and delays and lead solution development across tenant improvement and special projects
- Maintains strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients/consultants in fast-paced project environments
- Supports and promotes Ledcor’s core values of safety, quality, integrity, sustainability and success
- Managing hourly employees as required, including forepersons, carpenters, and labour staff
- 5+ years of construction experience in a Superintendent position or similar, with tenant improvement and/or special project experience
- Combination of work experience in a similar role and industry-related trade certification/education
- Expertise in safety within the organization and knowledge of OH&S and Environmental standards and regulations
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, and the ability to work with senior management
- Strong technical knowledge of modern construction practices, documents, drawings, schedules, technologies, equipment, industry practices and contract negotiations
- Expertise in coaching and developing team members through constructive feedback and providing opportunities for development
- Ability to anticipate problems and challenges, while providing leadership in creating innovative solutions to achieve organizational objectives
- Site-based position in Edmonton, AB
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
- Ability to successfully pass a drug and alcohol test
