(employee will be working with or have access to children or vulnerable adults and requires a Criminal Record Check)YesJob DescriptionIn accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values, and strategic directions of Vancouver Island Health Authority patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA and as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.Under the direction of the Manager or designate, plates meals for residents, visitors, and staff; washes and scrubs pots, pans and related dish washing duties; prepares and portions therapeutic diet items including nourishment's; measures and combines food and beverage ingredients by methods such as grinding, blending, slicing, dicing and/or puree; and checks residents meals to ensure dietary accuracy.QUALIFICATIONS:Education, Training And ExperienceGrade 10 plus one year's recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Skills And Abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
