- Under general supervision, support the pricing of new business and renewal portfolios and the development of effective premium and rating structures.
- Contribute to interactions with rate regulators, internal partners, and governance on pricing-related topics, with guidance from senior team members.
- Support the development and maintenance of pricing models, tools, and reporting capabilities.
- Develop a solid understanding of factors impacting loss costs and premiums, and contribute to initiatives that continuously increase pricing sophistication, including the creation of new predictive models
- Assist in monitoring portfolio performance and profitability for new and renewal business.
- Prepare and perform actuarial analyses, including trend analyses, indications, rate impact and other pricing-related studies, with appropriate review.
- Support Product and Underwriting teams by providing diverse analysis and recommendations.
- Assist in the testing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of pricing algorithms and tools.
- Remain informed of regulatory and market developments and incorporate learnings into pricing analyses.
- Operate within Zurich underwriting guidelines and procedures.
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate Degree
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5-7 years of experience in the Actuarial area, preferably in Personal Lines pricing
- Progress toward actuarial designation (ACAS or equivalent international certification)
- Experience in auto pricing across one or more provinces
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to explain technical results to non-technical stakeholders
