The Consultant can sit in either our Vancouver or Calgary office and will own the following responsibilities:Work on a variety of engagements including Internal Audit, Third Party Assurance CSAE 3416/ SSAE 18 (SOC1, SOC2, SOC3), enterprise risk management, internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) design and assessment (including SOX 404 and NI 52-109), program evaluation, independent project review, business process enhancement/re-design, and IT general and application controls assessmentsCollaborate with engagement teams to plan timelines, risk assessments, and other documentsBuild positive working relationships with clients and identify improvements for future assignments, while ensuring a high quality in client service by directing daily progress of fieldwork and informing managers of engagement statusDemonstrate and apply strong project management skills, inspire teamwork and responsibility with engagement team members, and use current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of deliverables and servicesReview, document, evaluate, and test business processes and internal controls in a wide range of environments and industriesMaintain a proactive and logical approach to information gathering and present complex ideas into clear communicationsEnsure high quality client service through daily progress of fieldwork to managers and staffHow do we define success for your role?You demonstrate BDO's core values through all aspects of your work: Integrity, Respect & CollaborationYou understand your client’s industry, challenges, and opportunities; clients describe you as positive, professional, and delivering high quality workYou identify, recommend, & are focused on effective service delivery to your clientsYou share in an inclusive & engaging work environment that develops, retains & attracts talentYou actively participate in the adoption of digital tools and strategies to drive an innovative workplaceYou grow your expertise through learning & professional development.Your experience and educationYou have completed an accounting focused post-secondary program or degree, or a related program with a focus on technology.You are pursuing your professional designation (CPA, CIA, CISA, etc.)You have 0-1 years of professional experience in a risk advisory or internal audit settingYou have a strong acumen for information technology and can assess information from an audit perspectiveYou can diagnose project issues, build solutions, and draft impactful communications for clientsYou display strong problem solving, leadership, and communication skillsPay range: 57,000 - 68,000/annumEarn your CPA DesignationAt BDO, we’re committed to the success of students pursuing their CPA designation.
