Run what runs the worldThis Position reports to: Superviseur, Groupe électroniqueABB’s Process Automation business area enables customers to operate some of the world’s largest and most complex industrial infrastructures, helping them outrun – leaner and cleaner.We offer a broad range of automation, electrification and digital solutions for process, hybrid and maritime industries, including industry-specific integrated control and software as well as measurement and analytics solutions and services.Your Role: Own the Challenge
  • Design and develop electronic circuits, including both digital and analog modeling and simulation.
  • Select electronic components.
  • Design embedded software (microcontroller, FPGA) as well as test software.
  • Contribute to the writing of design documentation, technical budgets, and testing and commissioning documentation.
  • Participate in the commissioning and testing of electronic boards.
  • Take part in multidisciplinary design reviews and present progress at various stages of the project.
  • Actively participate and collaborate in project planning and estimation tasks.
What it takes to Run what runs the world
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, or a college diploma (DEC) in Programmable Electronics and Robotics (TSO), with at least 10 years of experience in electronic engineering.
  • Advanced knowledge of VHDL/Verilog programming and strong proficiency in C/C++ programming for microcontrollers.
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of electronic circuits; skilled in prototyping and commissioning electronic boards.
  • Knowledge of the following software is an asset: Altium Designer, Pspice, Matlab, Python; good command of both French and English, spoken and written. French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.
