If this sounds like a culture you would like to work in, you are invited to apply for this role.TRS Staffing Solutions has exciting opportunities for a Process Engineering Lead - Conversion role to work for one of Canada's top employers and a global leader in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management industry.Responsibilities:
- Review lab and pilot-scale data, identify information gaps, and recommend additional testing required to support process design accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal standards, risk-mitigation practices, and value-improvement initiatives.
- Manage the development of off-gas treatment, neutralization systems, and safety-critical relief devices for hazardous materials.
- Contribute to engineering deliverables for studies, early design phases, and full project execution while supporting schedule planning and interdisciplinary coordination.
- Lead a small technical team responsible for designing key process units related to solids handling, thermal conversion systems, and downstream recovery operations.
- Direct the design of product collection and conditioning systems, including solid-phase condensation, recovery, and controlled melting processes.
- Coordinate and guide external engineering partners, including third-party modelling teams performing CFD or multiphysics simulations.
- Oversee development of reaction systems by guiding evaluations of kinetics, hydrodynamics, heat transfer, and scale-up considerations.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related.
- 10+ years of experience in process engineering, including design or scale-up of thermal conversion, reaction systems, or specialty material processes.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng. or P.E.)
- Strong knowledge of hazardous materials management, industrial safety practices, and engineering design standards.
- Experience collaborating across disciplines and providing technical leadership.
- Ability to analyze complex problems, synthesize information, and make sound engineering decisions.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
