We welcome and encourage everyone who has a passion and curiosity for innovation, technology, and play to explore our open positions and join our growing global team.The PlayStation brand falls under Sony Interactive Entertainment, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sony Group Corporation.Software Engineer, Build & Tools - ContractJob Role Responsibilities:Develop, update, and maintain software application build and release pipelines and processes to deliver software across a variety of platforms, including PlayStation consoles, Web, Mobile, and PCAutomate the provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools to ensure scalable, repeatable, and secure deployments across various environmentsBuild applications and tools that streamline application development and deployment processesFacilitate the needs of dependent teams (engineering, QA, and operations) and work with external teams to achieve resultsMonitor and measure software telemetry data (metrics, logs, traces) to identify gaps and prioritize improvements within our pipelines and toolsBuild dashboards to visualize metrics and communicate the health and performance of our systemsProactively diagnose and resolve CI/CD issues, as well as issues reported by development teamsWrite documentation (Tutorials, How-to guides, Reference guides, Explanations) for our pipelines, infrastructure and toolsCollaborate with team members, globally, across all SIE offices, to effectively build and deliver PlayStation software experiencesWork with diverse web technology stacksMinimum Requirements:A strong understanding of object-oriented principlesFamiliarity with common data structures and algorithmsExperience with Git, GitHubExperience with JavaScript / TypeScriptFamiliar with common web tooling and frameworksFamiliar with container technologies such as DockerFamiliar with Akamai and Content Delivery NetworksUnderstanding of "Phased Releases" and how it applies to CDN'sComfortable navigating the Linux command linePreferred Requirements:Experience working with RESTful web APIs Experience with Docker and/or KubernetesStrong understanding of Content Delivery Networks, particularly using AkamaiUnderstanding of Linux and Windows operating systemsFamiliar with telemetry related technologies (ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Cloudwatch, etc.)Experience with AWS (EC2, EKS, S3, RDS, etc.)Familiar with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery / Deployment (CI/CD)Excellent communication and collaboration skillsEqual Opportunity Statement:Sony is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
