- Prepare the Monthly Progress Estimates as per the contract.
- Prepare the process for reviewing the contractor's monthly progress invoices.
- Tracking and compiling project budget and completing City reporting requirements.
- Monthly Schedule submission review to ensure alignment with progress billing.
- Major Capital Project Accounting
- Provide support to the City Project Managers within the Winnipeg Sewage Treatment Program (WSTP).
- Support the WSTP as an integral player by:
- Review and prepare progress estimates and monthly reports.
- Conduct detailed project budget analysis and monitoring. Provide report monthly to City Project Manager.
- Coordination of various external parties to support Contractor billing (e.x. Independent Certifier)
- Maintain estimate of project costs at completion.
- Review of Contract Change Notifictions/Orders, RFIs, NCRs etc to evaluate risks inclusing claims risks. Make recomendations to the City's Project Manager for areas requiring intervention.
- Prepare claims/appeals files for known claims/appeals and for risks translating into issues/claims.
- Prepare whole life cycle costs of equipment to aid decision making during the design aspects of the Projects.
- Coordinate the active review of project risk registers and estimate potential costs to risks and prepare mitigations to key Program risks.
- Support multiple projects aligning with the goals of the WSTP.
- Assist with day to day project management duties as required.
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Engineering preferred or Technology Degree in Construction Management or combination of equivalent experience
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired.
- Capable to play a central role in coordinating and integrating progress across internal and external program team members.
- Process improvement and re-engineering, balancing efficiency and effectiveness
- Must have the capability to conduct analyses on complex data sets and review large complex technical reports.
- Must demonstrate ability to pay close attention to details, and present good planning, organization, and time management skills.
- Must have the ability to handle diverse tasks simultaneously and be able to work effectively with interruptions. Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information or issues.
- Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities.
- Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to independently compose routine written communications.
- Must demonstrate ability to adapt communication style for diverse audiences from construction site / plant floor to senior management.
- Must demonstrate the ability to guide others and deliver through other people / groups without direct management control.
- Must have strong partnering abilities to develop networks and build alliances; collaborate across boundaries to build strategic relationships and achieve common goals.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience with 5 years' experience directly related to Project or Program Management
- Must have previous experience with engineering or construction project management processes including good knowledge of Design Build processes from development, procurement, design, construction and through commissioning of a complex facility.
- Must have previous experience with Project Management and business process quality control.
- Good understanding of progress monitoring and controlling in project management frame work
- Working knowledge of ACONEX considered an asset
- Experience working in the Google Suite of office tool would be considered an asset
