Securiguard is hiring Security Guards to support our Healthcare operations for the Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) portfolio in Sechelt.In this role, you will help maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities include monitoring access points, conducting patrols, responding to incidents, and supporting healthcare teams in a busy clinical setting. This position requires strong awareness, professionalism, and the ability to remain calm in fast-paced environments.Duties & Responsibilities
  • Monitor entrances and control access to ensure only authorized individuals enter the facility
  • Conduct regular patrols of both interior and exterior areas to identify risks and deter unauthorized activity
  • Respond to incidents such as disturbances, safety concerns, and medical emergencies
  • Follow established procedures for emergencies, including lockdowns and evacuations
  • Interact respectfully with patients, visitors, and staff while addressing concerns or conflicts
  • Use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations safely
  • Monitor CCTV, alarms, and other security systems for unusual or suspicious activity
  • Complete clear and accurate incident reports and notify appropriate personnel as required
  • Work alongside healthcare staff to support safety and respond to incidents
  • Communicate with emergency services and law enforcement when necessary
Requirements
  • Valid BC Security Guard License with Advanced Security Training (AST) certification
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (MORB) certificate is an asset
  • Minimum 1 year of security experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively in a healthcare setting
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure with strong observation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to complete detailed reports, multitask, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer skills for report writing and documentation
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Post-secondary education in Police Foundations, Community Justice Services, or Law Enforcement is an asset
