1. Project Objective
Vancity is upgrading its Interac e-Transfer Send and Receive capabilities to API version 3.7 to modernize its payments platform and align with evolving Interac standards. The primary objective is to ensure the platform is ready to support Canada's Real-Time Rail (RTR) ecosystem and enable faster, real-time payment experiences for members.2. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including business, fraud management, compliance, and Central 1 teams to identify and resolve integration and requirements gaps.
- Analyze current-state Interac e-Transfer implementations by reviewing architecture, API specifications, and integration flows across Digital Banking, Azure integration layer, Central 1, and Temenos T24.
- Review and interpret API specifications and documentation from Central 1 and Interac and translate them into technical requirements.
- Define API requirements including request/response structures, payload definitions, validation rules, and versioning
- Perform data and field mapping between channels, integration APIs, Central 1, and downstream systems (Temenos T24).
- Define and maintain error code mapping documentation across systems to ensure consistent exception handling, standardization, and monitoring.
- 7+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or Technical BSA in banking or payments.
- At least 3 years of strong experience in API-heavy integration projects, including microservices-based architecture and distributed systems.
- Solid understanding of Interact e-Transfer 3.7 APIs and RTR transaction lifecycle, including:
oRequest-to-Pay (RTR) Messages
oDeposit / Fulfillment Messages
oLifecycle & Exception Messages
oDirectory & Notification Messages
- Experience with data mapping, interface specifications, and system integration analysis.
- Nice to have: Familiarity with core banking systems such as Temenos T24.
