Our client, a diversified investment and management organization with operations across Canada, is seeking a Capital Projects Finance Manager to join their Calgary, AB office. Responsibilities
As Capital Projects Finance Manager, you will:
  • Lead financial oversight for major capital investments and infrastructure projects (typically $10M-$30M+ in scale).
  • Manage project budgeting, forecasting, and cost control to ensure accountability.
  • Deliver financial reporting and dashboards for executive and board-level decision making.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and operational leaders to track performance and resolve bottlenecks.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS/ASPE) and governance requirements.
  • Support funding applications and oversee financial arrangements with external partners and government programs.
  • Contribute to long-term financial planning and strategic investment decisions.
Qualifications
Must-Haves:
  • CPA designation.
  • 5+ years of progressive financial management experience with a focus on capital projects, infrastructure, or construction.
  • Proven track record with mid-to-large capital projects ($10M+).
  • Strong skills in capital budgeting, project finance, and cost control.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and Excel-based modeling.
  • Ability to thrive in a complex environment with shifting priorities, navigating ambiguity with confidence.
  • Excellent communication skills to partner with cross-functional teams and executives.
Nice-to-Haves:
  • Experience with ERP or project accounting systems.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and ASPE for capital assets.
  • Familiarity with procurement models (lump-sum, cost-plus, unit rate) and government funding agreements.
  • Experience creating dashboards or performance tracking tools for executive reporting.
