
Electrical Engineer

- Perform site surveys to assess existing electrical system conditions.
- Provide support during construction activities as needed such as reviewing submittals and answering RFIs.
- Work with the principal engineer to understand the scope of work, schedule, budget, project instructions and responsibilities.
- Prepare clear, complete, and accurate drawings from rough or detailed sketches.
- Apply engineering fundamentals to design as well as the CEC, NEC, IBC, NFPA and all other applicable codes.
- Complete drawing responsibility tasks within scope, budget and schedule: review drawings for completeness, constructability and coordination.
- Start and maintain a discipline file of working drawings for the project.
- Work independently on design projects to support Principal Engineer and coordinate drafting efforts for projects.
- Size and specify electrical components and materials.
- Prepare equipment layouts and establish proper space requirements
- Prepare power lighting, and special systems plans as well as single line diagrams and panel schedules.
- Coordinate all electrical design work with other design disciplines (architectural, mechanical, site, plumbing).
- Minimum Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering
- Five (5) plus years of progressive experience in the engineering and design of electrical systems
- 3-8 years of AEC industry experience
- PEng or available to earn is highly preferred
- AutoCAD experience required.
- Revit experience highly desirable.
- Knowledge of low voltage power distribution is required.
- Knowledge of lighting design is required.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Detail oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Must be a collaborative team member able to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with SKM or ETAP Software for Power System Analysis preferred
