Controller - Permanent - 18426About the OpportunityOur client, located in downtown Toronto, is seeking a Controller to join their expanding team. In this role, you will oversee the organization's financial operations and ensure adherence to accounting standards, regulations, and best practices.Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Lead all financial functions, including accounting, payroll, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to maintain accuracy and compliance
  • Prepare and review financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow)
  • Perform financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement
  • Monitor cash flow and overall financial performance to support effective decision-making
  • Coordinate audits and tax filings with external auditors and advisors
  • Partner with business leaders across departments, providing financial insights to support strategic initiatives
  • Stay up to date on changes in accounting regulations and industry standards
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering growth and performance
About YouThe successful candidate will have the following:
  • CPA designation
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and internal controls
  • Experience with payroll processes and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency with financial management software; ERP experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently
