Overview:As a Designer, you will continue to be nimble, flexible, and responsible for “wearing many design hats” as the team continues to grow rapidly. Working in a collaborative team structure you will be involved in every aspect of the design process, from schematic design to contract admin, focused on successful delivery of Workplace Consulting projects alongside the Senior Manager and Director.Other responsibilities include:
- Work independently and collaboratively on projects to manage required aspects of a project from the initial workplace strategy to the project closeout, and all elements in between as required
- Support senior team members, while working independently or as part of group projects

- Collaborate and support other team members
- Collaborate with and maintain professional relationships with clients through regular communication
- Seek out innovation and best practice across all areas of the role – bring new ideas and thinking to client work and to internal processes and operations as appropriate.
- Proven ability to work on multiple projects at various stages at any one time
- Assists in site surveying & documentation of client space
- Understands the requirements of the plans, life safety issues, building codes and other technical aspects
- Assist in development of space planning that reflects client program profile and requirements
- Research and preparation of finishes concepts that reflect the functional, aesthetic & budget requirements of the project
- Knowledgeable in drawing details, finishes, specifications and contract administration
- Help prepare documentation for the selection, specification, procurement and installation of furnishings and equipment
- Able to support or step into larger projects
- Able, on occasion, to attend afterhours or weekend project activities or travel within or outside of Ontario
- Space Planning – Proficient with AutoCAD and/or REVIT
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Power Point, Word, Excel and Project
- Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills
- Comfortable with cloud-based software and online file sharing
- Exceptionally well organized, with time and files
- Self-motivated and self-organized
- Attentive, responsive, proactive, and action oriented
- High functioning in a fast-paced environment with ability to prioritize competing priorities
- Effective listener and communicator
- Comfortable with both collaborative and solitary work
- 6-10 years of experience
- Ability to grow into an Intermediate Design role, with future aspirations of a Senior Designer role
- Experience being part of a team that is highly transactional and mobile
- One of the following types of experience would be valuable: 3D modelling & rendering
- Undergraduate Business, Architecture, or Engineering degree, relevant college diploma, or other similar training/course
- Professional development and continuing education are encouraged so you may continue to progress in your role and the team may continue to innovate and offer best in class service and expertise
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a personal automobile
