OpenText Analytics Magellan can integrate information from any data source and application, and can be phased in, adding features and resources as.The OpenText Analytics Magellan Platform product development team is seeking a talented Lead Software Engineer to join the team. You will utilize knowledge and experience to perform design, systems analysis, research, maintenance, troubleshooting and other programming activities. You will also play a key role in the development of work teams by providing others with direction and leadership.What you will do:
  • Leading and implementing highly scalable, complex solutions.
  • Quickly learning and integrating unfamiliar technologies, frameworks, and design patterns in fast-paced, agile teams.
  • Applying strong analytical skills to develop and enhance features, frameworks, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Defining database design standards and best practices.
  • Conducting software design/code reviews to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Taking ownership of codebases, managing multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Recommending product enhancements and contributing to team feature development.
  • Communicating status updates and escalating issues when needed.
What it takes:
  • MS in Computer Science (from a top CS program) with 5+ years of commercial product development, or BSCS with 7+ years.
  • Strong lead Java developer with hands-on experience in API development (REST/SOAP), algorithms, data structures, and design patterns.
  • Willingness to learn new frameworks and technologies.
  • DevOps knowledge with hands-on Kubernetes experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Eclipse (Visual Studio is a plus).
  • Skilled in solving complex problems and server-side development (multi-threading, memory management, clustering, load balancing).
  • RDBMS expertise with at least one: PostgreSQL, Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, or DB2.
  • Application server experience (Tomcat, JBoss, WebLogic, WebSphere, or Oracle App Server) strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with BI concepts, C++, Hadoop, Hive, or MongoDB is a plus.
