- Implement fundraising best practices to achieve and exceed revenue and participation targets for peer-to-peer fundraising events such as Breakthrough T1D Walk and Fundraise Your Way.
- Work closely with local committee members and national support partners to meet fundraising targets and other key metrics for the annual Cocktails for a Cure gala while successfully delivering the event.
- Work closely with the Development Manager, Alberta & Prairies to strategize and execute fundraising plans for assigned region.
- Inspire, motivate, and engage event participants.
- Identify opportunities and develop relationships with key donors, event participants, corporate contacts, volunteers, and influential community members.
- Build relationships with newly diagnosed families, offering resources and sharing information about fundraising events in the region.
- Balance engagement and stewardship activities of current donors and event participants with prospecting and recruitment of new donors and event participants.
- Maintain comprehensive records of participant/donor interactions using a CRM database and other systems.
- Collaborate closely with the corporate partnerships and event experience teams to achieve overall event objectives.
- Participate in and attend special events and community engagement activities to represent Breakthrough T1D and promote Breakthrough T1D’s mission and fundraising goals.
- 2–3 years of fundraising experience, ideally in peer-to-peer events.
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Communications, Fundraising, or a related field—or equivalent experience.
- Experience with CRM systems and fundraising platforms is an asset.
- Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong organizational and analytical abilities.
- Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable communicating complex information to diverse audiences.
- Must be located in the Winnipeg area.
- Flexibility to travel throughout the region (approx. 10%) and attend evening/weekend events.
- Valid driver’s license required.
