Description :The Director of Commercial Marketing is a hands-on leader tasked with accelerating and scaling the company’s commercial marketing engine. They will partner closely with the external agency, Cult, to operationalize current pilot initiatives (paid media, events, thought leadership, CRM nurture, creative) across the broader commercial business.This role also leads the internal marketing function, managing the Marketing Automation Specialist to ensure CRM, campaigns, and customer journeys align with sales growth. The ultimate goal is building a repeatable B2B marketing engine that generates a measurable pipeline and proves commercial marketing value across the franchise system. This is an 18-month interim contract reporting to the VP, Commercial, pending the hiring of a Chief Marketing Officer and long-term structure evaluation.🏢 HYBRID WORK ENVIRONMENTVancouver-based and Toronto-based team members work in-office every other week (Tues–Thurs). Core attendance is required from 9 AM – 3 PM on these days to support business priorities.💼 A DAY IN THE LIFE
  • Agency & Marketing Execution:
  • Serve as the primary internal lead for the external marketing agency.
  • Oversee and accelerate key initiatives: paid media, events/trade shows, thought leadership, creative asset development, and CRM nurture/email programs.
  • Scale successful pilot programs to the entire commercial business.
  • Demand Generation & Pipeline:
  • Design and execute B2B demand generation programs to drive measurable pipeline.
  • Generate Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) and Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs).
  • Ensure marketing efforts directly align with sales leadership's business development priorities.
  • Account-Based Marketing (ABM):
  • Develop and execute ABM strategies targeting priority industries and enterprise accounts.
  • Utilize targeted campaigns (LinkedIn, Google, Meta, YouTube) to influence key decision-makers.
  • Collaborate with sales to align campaigns with strategic account lists.
  • CRM, Automation & Tech Stack:
  • Oversee the optimization of CRM journeys and marketing automation programs (acquisition and retention).
  • Lead the adoption and effective use of the B2B tech stack (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Apollo, 6sense) to enable scalable and personalized outreach.
  • Ensure all marketing activity is clearly connected to pipeline and revenue outcomes.
  • Scaling & Frameworks:
  • Build repeatable marketing frameworks from successful pilot programs for broad scalability across markets and verticals.
Success Metrics:
  • Growth in marketing-generated pipeline.
  • Increased MQL to SQL conversion rates.
  • Successful expansion of pilot initiatives into scalable programs.
  • Effective use of ABM and paid media channels.
  • Improved integration and alignment between marketing efforts and sales outcomes
🎯 WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
  • 7–10+ years of experience in B2B demand generation, growth marketing, or ABM
  • Strong experience with modern B2B marketing tech stacks
  • Proven experience running campaigns across LinkedIn, Google, Meta, and YouTube
  • Experience building automated prospecting and outbound marketing programs
  • Experience managing external marketing agencies and internal marketing teams
  • Strong understanding of CRM-driven marketing and marketing automation
  • Comfortable operating in fast-moving, entrepreneurial environments
💰 COMPENSATION & BENEFITSSalary Range:
$155,000 – $170,000 per annum(The actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience, and internal equity.)
