- Install, dismantle, align, move, and repair mechanical equipment, including but not limited to CNC machines, brake presses, punch presses, conveyors, and welding equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal equipment performance.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures, diagnose causes, and carry out timely repairs using millwright knowledge and skills.
- Redesign or modify machinery and fixtures to support continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
- Operate a wide range of tools including hand tools, pneumatic tools, and precision measuring instruments such as calipers, feeler gauges, and tape measures.
- Work with engineering and external contractors to source parts or complete specialized repairs as required.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records of inspections and repairs.
- Follow all company SOPs, quality standards, and Health & Safety policies, including wearing appropriate PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized Maintenance Area and work collaboratively with other shifts.
- Train new team members on equipment operation and start-up procedures.
- Communicate proactively with Maintenance Manager or Team Lead about any concerns with equipment, processes, or improvements.
- Suggest and implement improvements to increase production uptime and equipment reliability.
- Perform Building Maintenance including Minor plumbing, Yard Maintenance and general maintenance as needed.
- Participate in daily and weekly team meetings
- Assure the daily and weekly production schedule is adhered to.
- Complies with all company health and safety policies and procedures at all times. Without limitation, wears Personal Protective Equipment at all times in accordance with Tayco's policies.
- Maintains a clean and well-organized work area.
- Provides SOP process familiarization and orientation.
- Works overtime as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned from time to time at the discretion of management.
- Industrial Millwright Certificate of Qualification (433A) is required.
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in a similar manufacturing maintenance role; preferably within wood or metal manufacturing.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes including CNC, welding, assembly fixtures, and brake presses.
- Familiar with Ontario Electrical Safety Code, OHSA, WHMIS, and TSSA guidelines.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and technical documents.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems is considered an asset.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety, accuracy, and quality.
- Effective communication skills; able to understand, speak, read, and write English.
- Proficient in using trade-specific tools and equipment.
- Able to operate hand/powers tools (drills, pneumatic guns, wrapping machines etc.) and pump trucks.
- Proficient in trade specific tools for electricians, millwrights and tool & die makers.
- Strong proficient knowledge of Tayco products and processes.
