- Advise of issues that will affect schedule and expose BGIS to risk.
- Use similar prior schedules, and expertise to assess and create schedules
- Develop mitigating schedule risks and impacts.
- Use and support development of custom project level tools/ analysis.

- Benchmarking tools based upon project type and GC.

- Meet regularly with the project teams to:
- Progress the schedule and ensure it's accuracy and quality per BGIS standards.
- Review schedules provided by the Prime Consultant and Contractor.
- Integrate schedules and activities from other parties into the master schedule. Other parties may include, but not limited to, secondary contractors, furniture installation, networking and AV installations, abatement, and artwork.
- Provide expertise in planning and monitoring progress to ensure the schedule reflects the actual delivery sequence in both Design and Construction stages.
- Cost Load the schedule and generate cost reports using BGIS forecasting tools.
- Develops and maintains effective relationships with clients, consultants, vendors and team members.
- Review the critical path to:
- Ensure activities are properly linked.
- The sequence of work aligns with how the work will be conducted.
- Identify risk where the critical path could be affected in terms of higher risk activities or near critical path activities.
- Monitor and report on project milestones and performance metrics to project team, directors and other concerned parties.
- Identify performance trends. For larger projects (
- Identify the impact of change requests and loss of performance on the project's schedule to:
- Review validity of contractor claims of impacts to the critical path
- Implement, jointly with the project team and contractor, mitigation strategies to recover schedule loss.
- Develop a project schedule based upon project scope and project drawings in conjunction with prior BGIS schedules as reference.
- Use experience and reference schedules to assess if proposed duration provided by the contractor is realistic.
- For Risk:
- Utilize experience to advise the project team of issues that affect the schedule or expose BGIS to risk that could be mitigated.
- Carry the correct amount of schedule reserve based upon anticipated risk.
- Discuss and prepare mitigation strategies for anticipated risk events.
- Conduct Monte Carlo review sessions with the project team.
- Ensure the consultant and contractors adhere to contractual scheduling requirements. Meet with various parties to correct schedule / contractual non-conformances.
- Identify problems or conflicts in the project schedule and assist project team in effectively managing a resolution in conjunction with the project team.
- Propose solutions to recover schedule slippages and to prevent cost overruns.Core Technical:

- More than 8 years as a Project Scheduler; or a combination of Senior Project Management experience with:
- A minimum of 3 years of scheduling experience where scheduling was a major part of the role;
- and a combined total of 10 years of project management experience.
- University graduation or professional certification (e.g. P. Eng, PMP, PMI-SP, PSP, or equivalent courses)
- Minimum five (6) years of construction experience in Base Building and Fit-up.
- Excellent knowledge of the Critical path method, Practice Standard for Scheduling and understanding of complex building sequence.
- Experience in planning and scheduling of multi-phased projects of high complexity with emphasis in Base Building and Fit up implementation.
- Project management - proven ability and experience in delivering projects on-time, on-budget, within specifications and in-compliant with all requirements including but not limited to regulatory, environmental, health, and safety requirements.
- Project Budget management - proven ability and experience in developing and managing and creating cash flow reports from existing budgets.
- Project risk mitigation and management - proven ability and experience in identifying, mitigating and managing project risks.
- Communication - strong communication, influence, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
- Relationship building - proven ability and experience in building and maintaining effective relationships.
- Client management - proven ability and experience in managing client relationships and expectations.

- Vendor management - proven ability and experience in managing vendor performance.

- Computer proficiency - proficient in and experience with MS Office suite of applications along with proven ability to quickly learn new applications.
- Expert user of scheduling software (MS Project) and the ability to train users on best practices.
- Working knowledge of Primavera. Ability to become proficient within 6 months.
- Extensive experience in Primavera
- Project Management Institute Accreditation (PMP, PMI-SP), AACE PSP or in progress.
- P. Eng. or Engineer in training.
- Bilingual (English/French) but not mandatory.
- Federal Security Clearance at Secret Level (Reliability Level Security Clearance or eligible is required)
