
Facilities Maintenance Technician

- Perform minor electrical maintenance to include but not limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords).
- Performs minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, drains, trenching and laying new lines, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.).
- Performs minor painting, carpentry and masonry work (e.g. hanging doors, fitting locks).
- Assist in the fabrication of walls, installation of doors and windows, paint selection and preparation.
- Monitor control systems, building heating and refrigeration systems and fire detection and protection systems.
- Emergency and preventative maintenance on equipment throughout facility.
- Assisting production and manufacturing engineers with process and machinery improvements.
- Maintenance and operation of floor cleaning equipment.
- Emptying of all shop floor garbage and cardboard.
- Promotes a safety culture as well as attends all safety meetings.
- Ensure quality by following standard work/process instructions and identifying any potential risks to product quality.
- Ensure that work areas remain clean and well organized.
- Other duties as required.

- Minimum education of a High School Diploma is required.
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a maintenance group.
- Basic level computer skills in MS Office products.
- Safety training certificates are an asset for the position including elevated work platform, fall arrest, forklift and crane.
- Due to the safety sensitive nature of this position successful candidates will undergo pre-employment substance abuse and medical testing upon hire.
- Safety sensitive position in a temperature controlled manufacturing or industrial environment with occasional outside activities.
- Required to wear personnel protective equipment at all times (i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety harnesses and respirators) when required.
- Must be able to work from all types of ladders (step ladders, "A" frame ladders, and all-size extension ladders).
- Working at heights usually no higher than 30 feet in the air on or using proper lift equipment.
- Working around loud machinery.
- Able to maintain body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, ascending or descending stairs.
- Bending the body at the waist, the legs at the knees, and extending arms and hands in any direction in a repetitive manner continuously.
- Continuous standing, walking 600-1000 foot distances for long periods of time with only occasional sitting.
- Must be able to lift and handle up to 50lbs on a regular basis.
- Using upper extremities to apply or exert a force up to 20 lbs.
- Typing, punching or applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm.
- Perceiving size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with the fingertips.
