This position supports camp leaders by monitoring camper behaviour, assisting with the delivery of activities, providing mentorship to staff, and ensuring health, safety, and program protocols are followed.Why join Camp STEAM?Monday to Friday work schedule – weekends off!Daytime work hoursCanada Day and Civic Holiday OffFun work environment and culture while working with childrenCareer pathing – get experience in the STEAM fieldsFuture OpportunitiesRewards and RecognitionMultiple locations to choose from; for a full list of our sites please visit .ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities of Camper Behaviour Support include but are not limited to:Report to the Camp Leaders and participate in weekly mentorship sessions to support skill development and career growthMonitor camper well-being, behaviour, and group dynamicsImplement proactive behaviour strategies and provide camper support and coachingServe as head office contact for behavioural incident reportsSupport drop-off and pick-up windows with STEM bin engagement activitiesSupport activity delivery when not actively managing camper behaviourIncorporate technology and digital skill-building opportunities into daily activities (coding, robotics, foundational AI skills)Mentor Counsellors and CITs on behaviour management, activity facilitation, and STEAM/digital skillsModel appropriate behaviour and positive interactionsWork independently while following Camp STEAM policies and proceduresSupport and address staff concernsCarry out other reasonable duties requested by the Camp Coordinator, Program Coordinator, or Management TeamNote: Candidates applying for any position with Camp STEAM must have a valid certificate in Standard First Aid with CPR-C from a reputable provider of first aid training as recognized by WSIB / WCB / WorkSafe BC, as well as a Police Check in the Vulnerable Sector that was issued no earlier than August 28, 2025.Successful Candidates Should Possess:Experience supporting and managing children’s behaviour, including implementing proactive behaviour strategiesEducational Assistant (EA) or Early Childhood Education (ECE) credentials considered an assetKnowledge and understanding of STEAM related topicsInspirational and creative thinking skillsCustomer service-oriented mindsetTeamwork and collaboration skills with the ability to take initiativeStrong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to adapt to changeThe ability to anticipate problems and opportunities, and develop effective solutionsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsMust be able to commute to workplace locationThis position may be through the Canada Summer Jobs program. Applicants must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons to be eligible.What to ExpectAlthough our camp season runs in July and August, we are looking for Camp Behaviour Coordinators to begin training in late June 2026.
