Chrono is a Quebec-based airline offering planes that can accommodate between 9 and 189 passengers, exclusively for charter flights. With bases in Montreal and Quebec City, Chrono continues its expansion, reinforcing its position as a leader in the charter flight industry in Quebec and Canada.Role and contextThe Financial Controller oversees the company’s financial and accounting activities to ensure the accuracy of financial information, regulatory compliance, and the sound management of financial resources. They are responsible for preparing financial statements, maintaining effective internal controls, and ensuring compliance with financial policies, while supporting management in strategic decision-making. The Controller also serves as a resource person for the accounting team and works closely with the various departments across the organization. They act as a key partner to the Finance Director, contributing to strategic decisions and to the development of the finance function.Key responsibilities

Oversee accounting operations and ensure the reliability of financial information in accordance with applicable standards
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Establish and maintain effective internal controls
Participate in budget preparation and monitor budget variances
Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes
Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits
Provide financial analyses to management to support decision-making

Identify and implement opportunities to optimize financial processes and systems, including automation and analytical tools

Lead, engage, and develop the accounting team while fostering a culture of performance and continuous improvement
Play a key role in the evolution of financial practices and in structuring the finance function

Specific job requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Administration
CPA designation considered a strong asset
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance
Proven experience leading and engaging an accounting team
Excellent knowledge of accounting standards (ASPE or IFRS)
Proficiency in accounting systems and financial analysis tools, including advanced Excel; experience with automation or BI tools is an asset
Ability to prepare and interpret financial analyses to support strategic decision-making
Fluency in French is required for this position. In addition, strong English-language skills are also required in order to interact with English-speaking clients in Canada and elsewhere in the world.
